ST. LOUIS — In the preseason opener last week, the Packers rested QB Aaron Rodgers, RB Eddie Lacy and WR Jordy Nelson, but all three are slated to make their preseason debuts today in St. Louis with the No. 1 offense.
It’s not clear how long the starters will play, but the opening offensive series against the Rams will be the first preseason action for the entire first unit.
No starters on defense are slated to be rested, either.
Injury update: Two Packers undrafted rookies who made strong preseason debuts last week, RB Rajion Neal and LB Joe Thomas, are both out with knee injuries. DT Letroy Guion, who has not practiced yet in training camp due to a hamstring injury, remains out but could be slated to return to the field soon.
Others on the Packers roster not playing today are TE Colt Lyerla (knee), OL Don Barclay (knee) and WR Jared Abbrederis (knee).
Backup QB: If Scott Tolzien is to make a serious run at the No. 2 QB job, Saturday’s performance will be key. For more on the backup QB situation, click here.
Climate-controlled: After playing in a steady downpour in Nashville last week, the Packers are once again in a rainy city, with inclement weather outside the Edward Jones Dome. But conditions will be perfect inside.
