GREEN BAY — Packers starting left tackle David Bakhtiari was added to the injury report on Thursday with a back injury and was limited in practice, but Head Coach Mike McCarthy doesn’t sound overly concerned about it.
“Just being smart with him today at practice,” McCarthy said. “His back was bothering him a little bit.”
The potential absence of Bakhtiari would be significant given the pass rushers Miami possesses, led by veteran Cameron Wake. Five Dolphins, including Wake, have at least 1 1/2 sacks so far in 2014.
“Anytime you’re playing against excellent pass rushers it’s a challenge, especially on the road,” McCarthy said. “The way they get off the ball, they’re well-trained, they’re well-experienced in jumping the cadence. That’s evident. It’s a big challenge and it will be a focal point for us.”
Defensive end Datone Jones (ankle) and wide receiver Jarrett Boykin (groin) missed practice for the second straight day, while linebacker Sam Barrington (hamstring) and defensive lineman Josh Boyd (knee) were limited again.
