GREEN BAY–Mike McCarthy said safety Morgan Burnett is enjoying the best year of his career.
“Morgan has been healthy. He’s having a better year this year than he had last year,” McCarthy said following Thursday’s practice.
The possibility exists, however, that Burnett might not play against the Saints on Sunday. Burnett did not participate in Thursday’s practice due to a calf injury.
“Yeah, my concern for Morgan is higher today than it was yesterday,” McCarthy said. “We feel very good about our depth. Everybody is looking for an opportunity. I think Ha Ha is ready to play a complete game.”
Cornerback Sam Shields (knee) also didn’t participate in practice. Running back James Starks and defensive end Datone Jones, each with ankle injuries, were limited participants.
