GREEN BAY — Kenny Chesney is coming back to Lambeau Field in 2015, and he’s bringing Jason Aldean with him.
The two music headliners will hit Lambeau Field on their combined tour on June 20, 2015, it was announced Monday. The event is a combined effort by the Packers, the Brown County Professional Stadium District and PMI Entertainment Group.
“It’s very rare to have two performers of this magnitude on stage together,” said Ken Wachter, PMI President. “These are two headliners who normally sell out stadiums individually.”
Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy noted that Chesney is a big football fan while Aldean is a Packers shareholder. Lambeau Field has been under construction for renovations and other projects since Chesney first came to Lambeau in 2011, but this 2015 show will precede the Wisconsin-LSU college football game in 2016, giving the stadium two major events in consecutive years.
“The show in 2011 was great for the community,” Murphy said. “The Visitors & Convention Bureau after the last concert estimated the economic impact at $5 million. That’s very substantial.”
Wachter added the first Chesney concert produced ticket sales in 23 different states and filled up all the hotel rooms in Brown County.
“We’re told it will be even bigger and better for 2015,” Wachter said. “We’re one of only 10 markets to have both performers.”
