GREEN BAY–This Sunday’s Eagles-Packers game could decide a head-to-head playoff tiebreaker, but Packers Coach Mike McCarthy isn’t playing to that theme with his players this week.
“I don’t think it’s that important. I’m not thinking of the playoffs, I’m thinking of the Eagles. The players are so much better informed today. It’s not a point of emphasis for us,” McCarthy said when asked if he’ll remind his players of the tiebreaker storyline.
Sunday’s game will be a clash of two teams that run an up-tempo, no-huddle offense.
“We should be prepared for that,” McCarthy said of his defense, which practices against the no-huddle offense.
Offensively, “it’s a great fit for Aaron (Rodgers) because you can’t give him the ball enough,” McCarthy added.
Guards Josh Sitton (toe) and T.J. Lang (ankle) did not participate in practice on Wednesday. They missed practices last week but were in the starting lineup on Sunday.
“We’ll see tomorrow if they’ll be able to do anything. They’re probably similar to what they were last week,” McCarthy said.
