GREEN BAY–The peaking Packers broke the 50-point mark for a franchise-record second consecutive game in a 53-20 win over the Philadelphia Eagles at Lambeau Field on Sunday. More importantly, the win moved the Packers into a tie for the NFC North lead with the Lions, who lost in Arizona.
It’s a win that featured an interception return for a touchdown by Julius Peppers and a fumble return for a touchdown by Casey Hayward. It also featured, as Packers fans have come to expect, quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ campaign for league MVP.
Rodgers completed 22 of 36 for 341 yards, three touchdowns and a 120.3 passer rating. Rodgers had at least one potential touchdown pass, to Randall Cobb, dropped.
The Packers, 7-3, have outscored their opponents at Lambeau Field this season, 219-85.
