GREEN BAY–Aaron Rodgers hit Davante Adams with a 46-yard touchdown pass with 1:41 to play in the third quarter, and the Packers pulled to within 21-20 of the Cowboys heading into the fourth quarter of today’s playoff game at Lambeau Field.
On Dallas’ first possession of the second half, the Packers recovered a DeMarco Murray that Julius Peppers caused and Datone Jones recovered, and a team looking for life found it. From the Cowboys 44, a gimpy Aaron Rodgers went to work.
Eddie Lacy burst through a hole on the left side for 29 yards to the Dallas 16-yard line, but a personal foul against T.J. Lang moved the ball back to the Cowboys 22, third-and-16 instead of what would’ve been third-and-1. Ultimately, Mason Crosby came into the game and booted a 30-yard field goal that cut the Cowboys’ lead to 14-13 with 7:46 to play in the third quarter.
Dallas answered with a ball-control drive that quickly moved across midfield. Tony Romo threw to Jason Witten for 15 yards to the Packers 27, and then DeMarco Murray circled right end for 26 yards to the Packers 1. From there, Murray scored on the next play, 21-13 in the Cowboys’ favor with 4:12 to play in the third quarter. The drive was 80 yards in six plays.
The Cowboys were on the move when the third quarter ended.
