INDIANAPOLIS–New Chicago Bears Coach John Fox met with media at the scouting combine on Wednesday, and Fox was noncommital on the future of Jay Cutler as the team’s quarterback.
“Like I said, we’re not up against a deadline. My experience has always been that you need to gather the information and in turn you usually make better decisions. We’re in that process and we’ll keep you posted,” Fox said when asked if he would move forward with Cutler.
One of the other top issues with Fox as the Bears’ new coach is what defensive alignment he’ll use, 3-4 or 4-3.
“It’s a little hard to say right now. We’re going to be a 3-4 terminology wise. We’ve looked at a whole lot of tape. That’ll help us define what we’re going to be and how we’re going to use the pieces. I’m confident we’ll piece together a good defense. It’s still too early in the process,” Fox said.
