It wasn’t in the workout area at Lambeau Field and it wasn’t led by strength and conditioning coordinator Mark Lovat, but the Play 60 session with 150 elementary students at Wauzeka-Steuben School had Andrew Quarless, Casey Hayward and Micah Hyde working hard.
“That was fun. I could do that all day,” said Hyde. “I like being around little kids like that.”
Jumping rope, foot drills, parachute play and bowling were among the activities that the players took part in as a surprise to the kids.
“The parachute was great,” said Hayward. “I forgot how you could go underneath and trap the air in it.”
Elsewhere, Gilbert Brown and Bill Schroeder spoke to 185 middle and high school students about sportsmanship and respect.
