“It’s a reflection of our program. I’m focused on the next 100. It speaks volumes about our program. It’s something Ted (Thompson) and I are very proud of,” McCarthy said on Monday. “I’m blessed to be here. I’m blessed to work for an organization that gives you the resources to be successful. It’s the best coaching staff in the NFL.”
McCarthy and his coaches will spend the bye week on review and preparation for a showdown with the undefeated Broncos in what will be each team’s next game.
“We’ll work on self-scouting, and we’ll work on Denver,” McCarthy said.
The main topic of self-scouting will be an offense that’s been sluggish the past two weeks.
“We had two defenses come in and really challenge us at the line of scrimmage. Forty-nine plays and scoring 27 points, you don’t feel too bad about that,” McCarthy said, referring to Sunday’s 27-20 win over the Chargers.
