Philbin, Sherman get their QB
Posted by on April 26, 2012 – 7:51 pmThe Dolphins have taken Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill, whom Mike Sherman coached the last two seasons. New head coach Joe Philbin is going to count on Sherman to help develop Tannehill into the long-term answer at the QB position for Miami, which has struggled for years to find a true successor to Dan Marino.
Eight picks into the draft now and no pass rushers have come off the board.

Buccaneers take safety, Barron from Alabama
Posted by on April 26, 2012 – 7:46 pmThe top safety in the draft, and the only one thought to be a first-round talent, is off the board. Tampa Bay took Alabama’s Mark Barron at No. 7.
The Packers obviously need a safety with the release of Nick Collins, but there was little hope of Barron being on the board at No. 28. Interestingly, though, is no defensive linemen or outside linebackers have been taken yet, which is good news in terms of the Packers’ needs.
Miami, with former Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin as head coach and former head coach Mike Sherman as offensive coordinator, is now on the clock.
